How do I get my 4 year old dog to pee on the "wee-wee" pad instead of the floor?

I have a 4 year old Chihuahua and she keeps peeing on the floor and not on her wee-wee pad.

I had purchased some liquid that I pour (a few drops) onto the wee-wee pad to make her pee there, but it does not seem to work.

Anyone have any suggestions?

My suggestion...take it outside to pee.

Home Security For Your Wee Ones

Every family warns their children about stranger danger and the risks that happen outside of the home. Your home is supposed to be the place where your children can thrive and be at ease without dangers. There are everyday hazards around the home that put our children in peril that we as adults fail to think about in our busy day. Simple steps can protect your children from their curiosity hurting them here are some tips to keep your tiny tots safe all the time.

1. When your child is very little their brains are active and so are they. Loving to crawl all over the place and getting into stuff they should not sometimes. Opening and closing cabinets are a favorite for children, beside the occasional squished finger there are serious hazards like medicine, cleaning products etc that they can get a hold of. Make sure that all of your cabinets in reach have safety latches. Make sure that the safety latches are secure enough for pulling and tugging.

2. As your child grows and tumbles, make sure that your kitchen or wherever they like to run around is accident proof A great way to keep heads from being cracked open or a corner in the rib is to put corner bumpers and edge bumpers. So like in bumper bowling your kid can bump into anything and hop back up without a scratch or cracking their head open. Another great investment is outlet covers, which can keep little fingers out of light sockets. Often times kids will try and stick whatever they can into the outlet make sure they covered by plastic and very hard to get off. That way they are not interested in taking the plate cover on and off, negating the purpose of the cover.

3. Having a home alarm system is a great way to keep your child safe if you are out of the home. Many kids come home from school to empty houses because both their parents are working.  Make sure they know how to arm and disarm the home alarm. Many companies now can be armed and disarmed from a keychain as well, so your child does not have to dash for the key pad in the home. Keeping the home alarm on can help with dangers beside someone trying to enter as well. They can detect fire, smoke and carbon monoxide should your kid can be alerted to any dangers in the home. Also your home security system will call all the appropriate emergency services and contact you as well so you can rush home.

4. When coming home from school, when the parents are gone make sure you kid knows to be observant. If there is anytime a miss with the home such as an open door or a broken window tell your children to say away. Make a plan to call you and then call a neighbor or someone who lives close to stay with them until you are able to come home and check out what has happen at the house.
