dog has swollen toe nail pad, been on antibiotics twice, xray shows nothing, no open sore/ excretions, help!

If antibiotics didn't help, then it only means it's not a bacterial infection. It still could be fungal.

You could try applying some lotrimin cream, available at the drugstore, and wrap the paw so he/she can't lick it. It may help, can't hurt. But you'll know soon ,and for about $7.

If you find that it improves, but doesn't quite clear up, go back to the vet and ask for an oral antifungal med.
