What's the successful result of potty training a puppy?

I'm training him to potty outside for only like 5 days. He seems to have a general idea about it, but he still does it inside sometimes. I don't know how he will ever learn to not do it inside at all. So what's the successful result? Like, will he learn to hold it until I take him outside? Thank you!

I find that if I take a puppy outside at least every two hours then they learn to potty only outside. Yes, you will have a few accidents inside, but with thorough cleaning so that no smell remains, then your pup should not return to the scene of the accident. When you take him outside, take him to the same place every time. He will smell where he has gone before and instinct will kick in and before you know it he will be completely trained to potty outside. This will take extra time on your part in t he beginning, but you will definitely reap the rewards later on.
