Extra Large Wee Wee Pads

How do I get my dogs to hit their wee wee pads all the time?

THey always go where they are supposed to but sometimes they pee beside the pad. Its not like the pad isnt big enough I buy the extra large ones and they are chihuahuas. HELP!!

It's ok to treat them like babies. I do too and I have 6 purebred ones and one mix. The easiest thing to do is use a box they have to get in to pee on the pad. Get a large box and cut down one side so it is only a few inches tall. They will have to step over the box lip to be in the box on the peepad. That way they can use it better. If you have an intact male (I have two) you will have issues with him trying to "mark" the peepad and miss. A box helps. You can even use and open crate with the peepad in it if you never use a crate to contain the dogs. They just assume that crates are for peeing, so you can't use them for both sleeping and peeing if you do this.
