Dog Puppy Potty

Puppy is potty trained to go outside, but will not go in the rain. Will using pads inside be too confusing?

How well do you think a dog/puppy would take to puppy potty pads inside or a littler box, newspaper, etc. Just while it's raining. She will go if it's sprinkling but it has been pouring all afternoon & I know she'll need to go soon. But I am afraid the potty pads will send her the message that it is ok to go inside, which I do not want. Advice please

YES it's too confusing. You just spent a long trim training her to go outside and now you're changing the rules on her and saying it's okay to go inside. You can't get any more confusing than that! Put your rain coat on, grab an umbrella, and take her out in the rain - eventually she will get used to it.

FYI if the weather is too horrible and it's dangerous to bring her out, then have her go in the garage with the door open. It still seems like outside to them, and if you add a length of fake grass voila. That way you don't confuse them (as the garage is not where they normally go, they will see it as "outside.")
