Why do people consider dogs (and other pets) as disposable?

It has been my experience (not altered since reading some of the questions here) that people get pets without realizing the amount of time and money needed to keep them healthy and happy. Spaying/neutering is a must but not everyone does it. Socializing a puppy is also a must but so many people don't bother. Basic house-training isn't done so the dog is not allowed in the house. Dogs are sociable animals and need love and people contact. When owners don't spay or neuter, don't socialize or house-train their dogs they either exile them to the back yard where they are ignored for the most part or they get rid of them - the pound where they are killed if not adopted (and who wants a grown dog that is not house-trained or socialized) - dropped at the side ot the road somewhere or just put to sleep. Animals are not disposable - they are not impulse items that can be thrown away or forgotten when they are no longer cute or convenient.

You should become an educator for people about these subjects. Start volunteering for the pound or something so you can educate people when they are getting a dog. Pass out fliers at the dogpark or offer classes at the YMCA or to local schools. You have a lot to offer and you should be telling everyone these facts. How will you spread your wisdom about this subject to others?

How to Become a Top Dog Breeder

Many people want to become good dog breeders. Dog breeding and doing it properly is an expensive hobby. There is the picking up of a good bitch, waiting for her to become old enough before breeding, choosing the best dog for her to mate with, and undertaking all the health checks she needs, and ensure that the dog you need also passes through the same health checks. There are potential extra expenses during pregnancy, you have to pay a stud fee (or return a puppy), you have the time at your disposal, and can incur the expense of whelping.
