Dog potty training relapse?
I have a 6 yr old black lab/pit mix that has been in our new home since a year and a half ago. He resides in our garage with his "dog house" as a cubby under our steps that he seems to enjoy. The garage is also heated during the cold winter days. He had been an outdoor dog until bringing him to our home but he was able to be completely potty trained within about 1-2 months of moving to his new current home. Over the last few weeks he has started doing his business (both #1 and #2) on his carpeted floors in the time we are gone for work. We rarely leave him more than 8 hr stints. He is walked in the mornings and evenings, well dieted, and when he has his accidents we clean with woolite pet spray to neutralize the area.
Over the last few months we have also noted a loss of energy during his walks. The only change to his routine in the time he has been here is that we added a new dog from the shelter. she has been with us for about 5 months now. They get along great. Any suggestions?
maybe the dog feels as if you give more attention to the new dog it might want more attention and maybe the buissiness problem is cause he wants attention maybe you should play with the dogs or give them each their own time for attention it seems to work with most dogs

Dogs Potty Training - Yes You Can Do It
Most dogs live indoors now and a dogs potty training is necessary. This training can occur at any age, but the amount of time that it might take varies with the age of the puppy or dog. For example, a puppy that you acquire at six weeks old could take a number of weeks to housebreak, one that is three months old should take less time and one that is six months old might learn in just a few days. Whatever age your puppy/dog is, don't forget that it is the owner's duty to teach not to condemn. A failure in a dogs potty training is most likely the owner's fault.
It is best for one person in the household to be responsible for the dogs potty training because people could get confused as to whose job it is at what time. This is not a spare time job, you must monitor the puppy/dog continually. Prevention is the best cure when tackling your dogs potty training.
