Dog Potty Box Grass

PLEASE HELP!!! Why won't my dog go potty in his pooch potty?

I asked this question yesterday...he is potty trained and in our old place would go out to the patio and go in the little dirt/grass patch. At the new place we built a pooch potty (wooden box, quite big, with low sides and there is sod in it) and it is out on the patio just like the old place. He won't go in it. People yesterday said to put some poop in it so he can smell it and know that is where he goes. Well I did and he STILL won't go in it for the life of him. What can I do now? I really want him to start using it so he can go when ever he wants and doesn't have to wait until one of us are around to take him out. He will hold it for a long time and I don't know if that will do anything to hurt him. And going out in the rain is NO fun. Please someone help me. Dog whisperer where are you
